worth keeping for posterity: Question Time last night - Mark Steel’s face sums up everyone’s feelings as, for some inexplicable reason, Melanie Phillips keeps talking.
It almost beats Marcus Brigstocke’s expression from when he was on QT with her and she was wanking on about climate change being a conspiracy and he looked like he was about to be sick on his notes.
The bit that pissed me off the most was when she started going on about how there are three groups who share responsibility for the banking crisis - the government, the bankers, and the people who borrowed so recklessly - and then asked why it is that people think that only the bankers should have to suffer for it? Because, you know, it’s not like the government got voted out, and the people have lost jobs and been on the receiving end of the most severe public sector cuts ever… No, those poor bankers with their million pound bonuses…why does everyone think that THEY should suffer?
