…doesn’t Steven Moffat (who didn’t write that episode) know that…
THE DOCTOR

NOT EVEN ONCE

USES GUNS!
This isn’t even all the time he did. How about Four building a bazooka with Leela and then later a laser cannon out of a lighthouse? Or the fact that he built a gun with lethal settings into every K-9 he built (and had K-9 use those settings)? Or all the other times he manufactured and/or used weapons, including explosives.
You can be as condescending as you like but this time was different and you bloody know it.
No. No different. Only different in your mind.
(Yes, I’m mixing my fandoms and quoting Yoda, but I DON’T CARE!)
Yoda ftw!
But yes I realise it’s different in my mind but this is tumblr and I’m one for believing everyone should be allowed to express their opinion whether it’s good or bad (as perceived by others, of course.) And what I mean by different is the fact that he’d lost himself. In the same way the picture of 10 up there had lost himself. In both situations, he’d been travelling for too long by himself, and we all know that sends him round the twist before he even realises what he’s become. What I mean by ‘different’ is that he himself was different; he wasn’t his normal self when he held that gun in today’s episode.
Oh, yes, I completely agree…I was just merely pre-empting the anticipated posts proclaiming that the Doctor would never, has never, could never use a gun because he abhors them so much…which is demonstrably untrue…not just for Classic Who, but for New Who too. So often, when people complain about the show, and make claims about what the Doctor would or would not do I’m left thinking, “Are you even watching the same show??”
Also, you might find this other post I made in response to tonight’s episode interesting too.
THANK YOU! Naturally, as you can all see, the doctor never uses guns. ;)
well he Was a soldier
