Because all those characters have moved on since then and it makes no sense for them to be together again.

I don’t want a revival, really. I’d love a one shot or miniseries that explores just how much they’ve all moved on and changed. Some sort of caper or emergency that’s just one big excuse for all of those characters to interact again.

Marvel’s not doing many of those any more, so I guess I’ll just have to be disappointed.

To be honest, I’m glad that they’ve stopped with the endless glut of mini series and one shots. As an X-fan in the nineties it was a little soul destroying, because they were almost always entirely pointless and fairly low quality. The big exception being stuff like Cyclops and Phoenix, that actually filled in some nice back story stuff…I seem to recall Rise of Apocalypse being good too…

Marvel is clearly getting ready to announce a string of new Marvel NOW! books with a new teaser hitting the web today (seen here), but not only did we get that teaser today but a rumor ended up in the MC offices. A rumor from an anonymous source, but a credible one none the less. And with that single piece of information, we were able to extrapolate some additional information…

…If this supposed X-Force is starring Cable, does this mean it’s a throwback to original X-Force?

…is this where half of X-Factor’s cast is going, considering Siryn, Rictor, and Shatterstar were all on the original X-Force?

Hrmph.

Kieron Gillen on Young Avengers, though? DO FUCKING WANT.

GotG by Bendis and McNiven is practically a given now, isn’t it? I think I’ll be getting that one in shiny hardback trade format to match my existing GotG hardbacks.

A Kieron Gillen penned Young Avengers featuring Kid Loki sounds too damn good to be true. If only I was likely to run into Mr Gillen again too so that I could ask him about it and see if he gets that same shifty look in his eye as when we asked him about Iron Man.

An old school X-Force book? That I could be tempted to add to the pull list…ouch… And as for half of X-Factor’s cast ending up there…well…I’ve been predicting the sad but inevitable end of X-Factor for a while now… (Although it looks like Cannonball’s going to be over in The Avengers…so it won’t be a full reunion…but let’s hope for the return of Tabitha Smith, eh?).

I wouldn’t touch anything by Loeb and McGuinnes with a ten foot bargepole after X-Sanction thought…

But three books out of four…suddenly Marvel NOW is starting to hook me in…
