Gloria De Piero MP, Labour’s Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities, responding to Lord Hurd commenting “There is a danger this Feminism thing is getting a bit ‘ludicrous”, said:
“Under David Cameron it’s the same old Tories, out of touch and standing only for a privileged few.
"The only thing that is ludicrous is that almost 100 years since the first woman was elected to Parliament women still make up less than a quarter of MPs and 4 out of 22 members of David Cameron’s Cabinet.
“Instead of dismissing women’s voices the Tories should be working out how they can better speak for women across the country.”
