This report raises yet more concerns that taxpayers have been short changed by David Cameron’s botched Royal Mail fire sale- Ian Murray
Ian Murray MP Labour’s Shadow Minister for Trade and Investment, responding to the Public Administration Select Committee report on Open Data and the sale of the Postcode Address File, said:
“This report raises yet more concerns that taxpayers have been short changed by David Cameron’s botched Royal Mail fire sale, losing valuable public assets including the Postcode Address File to City speculators. Additionally, we need assurances that small businesses and others who rely on being able to access postcode information will still be able to do so.
“At a time when families are being hit by a cost-of-living crisis ministers have serious questions to answer on whether they’ve flogged off Royal Mail and its assets on the cheap, with consumers and small businesses losing out.”
